As an artist, I consider it to be my goal to create the work that inspires me and others with the beauty of everyday life. I do not merely want to capture the subject with my brushes, rather with careful and colorful strokes; I want to give it a life once more.

Trying to capture feelings and expression, no matter the medium or surface, is another challenge every time I choose my subject. The variety of tones in faces, I find in the everyday world around me, such as, landscape and architecture. Finding the right colors in the skin is like finding the exact colors in the sky or trees. There are no rules or boundaries, just variety and beauty.

I choose my subjects based on the amount of interest I have for the colors, patterns, edges, and uniqueness of them. I see forms, colors, and tones rather than paying attention to whom or what my subjects are. While I use a variety of medium and a process in each work, my pieces are consistent. The subject matter of each body of work determines the medium. My subject influences are first and foremost everything I see, feel and experience, be it my family, culture or landscape surrounding me. With my finished works I try to breathe a fresh air into everyday life so that its colors, tones, and varies textures are displayed on my canvas.
